Model Development and Validation to Optimize Vascularization in Intestinal Tissue Scaffolds (Awarded 1st Place for Research - UCLA Bioengineering Design Symposium 2012)

In order to establish an optimal pore density that allows sufficient vascularization in electrospun PCL scaffolds, in vitro and 3D COMSOL models were created to anticipate in vivo results. After establishing in vivo results, the predictive capacity of both models was assessed.
